Vigilante

The Savage Urban Action Thriller From The Director Of MANIAC
New York City factory worker Eddie Marino (Robert Forster, Oscar nominee for JACKIE BROWN) is a solid citizen and regular guy, until the day a sadistic street gang brutally assaults his wife and murders his child. But when a corrupt judge sets the thugs free, Eddie goes berserk and vows revenge. Now there's a new breed of marauder loose on the city streets, enforcing his own kind of law. His justice is swift. His methods are violent. He is the VIGILANTE.

Fred Williamson (FROM DUSK TILL DAWN), Woody Strode (SPARTACUS), Joe Spinell (MANIAC) and Salsa legend Willie Colon co-star in this hard-hitting exploitation classic from director William Lustig (MANIAC COP, RELENTLESS) that many critics consider to be better - and more shocking - than the original DEATH WISH.

YEAH! This is what happens when you get pushed too far, and can only find peace when you solve it, YOUR WAY. These guys were tired of being hassled, tired of being victimized by the rampant violence that can reach out an change your life on a whim. They decided to send a message back to the bad guys, from the lowest level street pushers and thugs all the way up to the organized leadership, main suppliers and legal professionals who turned a blind eye to what the everyday man was going through. There are some really great lines in this movie and a seriously intense monologue from Fred Williamson proclaiming "This is our Waterloo, baby!". Such a good movie. It makes me want to walk down the street with my shoulders all pushed back and a fierce gleam of pride and security in my eyes. And I weigh like 130. Sometimes we get pushed over that edge. These guys did. And this movie is a wonderful story that tells the why's and wherefor's that did the pushing, and how they chose to react to those circumstances. Im not an advocate of violence in general. But there are always exceptions....Big ups to Blue Underground for this one!
